Jennifer Josephs KC, leading Holly Sims of St Ives Chambers, appeared in the Court of Appeal on behalf of the Crown Prosecution Service, appealing a terminatory ruling from a Crown Court.

The appeal, which was allowed, involved consideration of the difficulties faced by courts during the current case backlog. The Court varied the  reporting restrictions in order to publish important guidance for Judges regarding the current delays affecting the criminal justice system and what can be done to help deal with said issues.
