Jonathan Barker, leading Matthew Cullen, prosecuted Harminder Mattu for Murder at Wolverhampton Crown Court. 

Harminder Mattu attacked his wife, Paramjit Kaur, at their home address in Oldbury on 30th March 2025. The following morning, he attended West Bromwich police station where he told police that he had killed his wife by stabbing her because she attacked him with a knife. A post-mortem examination later showed the cause of death to be pressure to his wife’s neck. It also transpired that Paramjit Kaur had applied for a divorce, and reported previous domestic violence. 

The Jury deliberated for only 1 hour and 18 minutes. 

Mattu will be sentenced at a later date.
