Our mini-pupillage application process for 2026 placements is now open
Our application process for mini-pupillages to take place in 2027 opened on 12th October and will close on 6th November 2026.
We offer 3 day Mini-Pupillages based at Chambers in Birmingham to applicants who are in at least the second year of their undergraduate degree. We welcome those who have limited or no mini-pupillage experience, and in particular those who are able to demonstrate a genuine interest in and commitment to a career in Birmingham.
Applicants wishing to change from another career will be expected to have a clear view of their abilities and how these can be transferred to a successful career at the Bar.
If I am successful, what will I be doing during my 3 days at St Philips?
We hope you will spend most, or all, of your time within your preferred specialist practice area of law. However, due to the fast-changing nature of our business, it is not always possible to secure your time within your preferred area, in which case we will find you a suitable alternative.
We hope you will spend time with more than one Barrister: shadowing their daily schedules and spending time with them in court, in order to really get a feel for the profession.
Through our mini-pupillages, you will gain a good understanding of roles and responsibilities and life at the Bar.
How should I make an application?
The Mini Pupillage process for 2027 opened on 12th October 2026. The closing date for applications for placements throughout 2027, will be 6thNovember 2026.
