Kevin Hegarty KC, leading Gulam Ahmed of Libertas Chambers, secured the acquittal of their client on a charge of Murder arising from an incident at The Cross Keys bar on Steward St on 21st February 2022 where a 48 year old was stabbed and died. Following legal arguments the prosecution accepted a guilty plea to possession of a knife and the defendant was sentenced to 20 months detention.
