Jennifer Josephs KC, leading Lucinda Wilmott-Lascelles, instructed by the Crown, prosecuted the trial of brother and sister Isaiah and Mya Marsh in Birmingham. The Defendants murdered a man, who died from multiple stab wounds in a brutal knife attack in the street.
The case was presented to the jury by the Crown with reliance on careful analysis of CCTV, phone records, and expert medical, psychiatric and forensic evidence.
Both Defendants had denied responsibility, relying on the defences of self-defence and loss of control but were both convicted of murder by the jury and sentenced to life with a minimum term of 20 years.
