We are pleased to confirm details for the next two sessions in our Business and Property Group Juniors series of talks – ‘Urgency, Urgency, Urgency’.

Following on from last month’s talk on Interim Injunctions, these popular and engaging sessions have been built with junior lawyers in mind, offering the opportunity to both learn and network with like-minded industry colleagues in a relaxed and informal environment.

These popular and engaging sessions have been built with junior lawyers in mind, offering the opportunity to both learn and network with like-minded industry colleagues in a relaxed and informal environment.

Details of what to expect at the sessions can be found below:

“Time Wasted is Wasted Time” – Limitation Periods in Contract and Tort: Practice, Procedure and Practical Tips with Eloise Marriott & Alexander Bradford

Thursday 19 September
Registration: 1730
Seminar: 1745-1830
Networking & Refreshments: 1830-1930

Location: St Philips Chambers, 55 Temple Row, Birmingham B2 5LS

Misunderstanding limitation periods could have potentially fatal consequences for Claimants. Limitation is also of vital importance to Defendants. As such, this seminar will provide a tool-kit for junior practitioners when dealing with limitation in contract and tort claims. In particular, Eloise and Alex will cover calculating limitation periods; amending statements of case and adding parties at the end of the
limitation period; and standstill agreements.

“Don’t Judge Me Wrong” – Appeals: Preparation, Practice and Procedure with Harry Marriott & Raghav Trivedi

Thursday 7 November
Registration: 1730
Seminar: 1745-1830
Networking & Refreshments: 1830-1930

Location: St Philips Chambers, 55 Temple Row, Birmingham B2 5LS

Raghav and Harry will provide for a roadmap into the procedural requirements of an appeal to the County Court, High Court and the Court of Appeal, along with what is expected of practitioners in preparing for an appeal to those venues. They will also provide key practical tips for preparation, what to expect at the hearing, the test for permission to appeal and tactical approaches. The session will hopefully assist practitioners in giving their clients clear and succinct advice in respect of a possible appeal.
