Professional Liability

St Philips boasts an impressive line-up of experts in professional liability work.

We recognise that clients who have already been let down by one professional need particular time and care. Equally, we understand that claims can be very worrying to defendants and we provide clear advice and representation in the professional’s hour of need.

Each member of our team has significant experience in professional liability work. Some practise across the field while others have particular experience of certain classes of professional liability work.

The team includes no less than 8 senior barristers who come highly recommended by the legal press.

Chambers UK describes Avtar Khangure KC as a “tenacious advocate … popular both with his peers and the local judiciary.”

The “unflappable” Simon Clegg is “mentally sharp … and extremely commercial in his outlook.”

John Brennan is an “extremely good analytical lawyer [who] marries legal acumen with cautious common sense.”

In suitable cases, members of the team are prepared to consider acting on a CFA or contingent fee basis. Whatever our decision, we will always try to provide a clear answer to funding issues as quickly as possible. If funding is going to be a problem then we recommend an early discussion with Justin Luckman or another member of our commercial clerking team.

Our Professional Liability Barristers:

Please get in touch with our dedicated business and property clerking team with any questions regarding our service and expertise.

Justin Luckman, Ross Hands, Jake Smithers and Tom Kelly.
