St Philips Family Barristers are delighted to welcome Karl Rowley QC as a Door Tenant at St Philips Chambers.

Karl was called to the Bar in 1994 and took Silk in 2013 and is also a Recorder with Family, Criminal and Civil tickets. He practices principally from St John’s Buildings in Manchester.

Karl represents Local Authorities, Children, parents and extended family members in the Public Law arena. He has a particular interest in cases involving complex medical evidence including NAHI, alleged bone disease, child death and purported poisonings.

He has appeared at all levels up to and including the Supreme Court and regularly represents parties in the Court of Appeal. Karl was successful in resisting the first ever appeal to be heard in the Upper Tribunal, Administrative Appeals Chamber.

The Legal Directories state that Karl is “a wonderful silk on complex children matters” and is “ridiculously clever, unflappable and a joy to instruct.”

Head of Group, Carolyn Jones, commented: “Karl has led a number of practitioners from St Philips and has a national presence for his work in the most serious of Children cases. We are absolutely thrilled that Karl has committed to become a Door Tenant here at St Philips – he will bolster the service we are able to offer our instructing solicitors and compliment John Vater QC and Paul Storey QC, our existing Door Tenant Silks.”
