In the early hours of 23 June 2025, Robert Alexander stabbed his wife at least 77 times in their home in Tamworth. Following the attack, Alexander called the police, told them he had killed his wife and referenced issues surrounding money and control.

He then changed his clothes, put the bins out and remained with his dogs until police arrived.

The defence argued diminished responsibility, which was rejected by the jury.

Alexander was found guilty at Stafford Crown Court last Wednesday, and will be sentenced on the 1^st September 2026.
