St Philips are delighted to announce that Kevin Hegarty and Raj Punia have received Commendations from the National Crime Agency in recognition of their work in securing an ‘excellent prosecution result’ on Operation Smarten, a multi-handed case arising from an investigation into the laundering of the proceeds of organised crime via the transfer of more than £130 million through UK banks to China and the Middle East. Their awards were presented personally by Lynne Owens CBE, Director General of the NCA at a ceremony on the 30th June at The Oval Cricket Ground.
