Jennifer Josephs prosecutes in Alfie Steele murder trial

Jennifer Josephs, led by Michelle Heeley KC of Number 5 Chambers, prosecuted the case involving the death of 9 year old child, Alfie Steele. His mother, Carla Scott, and step-father Dirk Howell were both accused of murder. After a 5 week trial, which included complex expert medical evidence, Dirk Howell was convicted of murder, Carla Scott of manslaughter.

Dirk Howell was sentenced to life imprisonment, with a minimum term of 32 years, while Scott received a sentence of 27 years imprisonment.
