Following a 4 week trial at Nottingham Crown Court, Blondel Thompson, instructed by Asad Khan of Hussain Solicitors, secured an acquittal in the case of R v Tkia Campbell. Ms Campbell was charged with Assisting an Offender who had been charged with Murder.

Ms Campbell was alleged to have assisted Tamari Greaves in a number of ways in order to impede his apprehension or prosecution by:

  • Engaging in numerous telephone calls and text messages with the co-defendant after the murder,
  • Collecting the weapons used during the murder and placing them in an outhouse,
  • Providing the co-defendant with a change of clothing,
  • Taking away the clothing worn by the co-defendant during the murder.

The jury found TC not guilty in a unanimous decision.

Mr Greaves was found guilty of manslaughter by a majority direction, but not guilty of murder.
