Appeal Hearing: Sheffield Wednesday FC -v- EFL

John Randall QC and Mark Grant represented Sheffield Wednesday FC in their appeal against the decision of an EFL Disciplinary Commission, surrounding the high profile sale of the club’s Hillsborough ground.

A League Arbitration Panel recently heard the club’s appeal against the earlier decision to impose a sanction on the Club of a deduction of 12 points in season 2020/21. Whilst the Panel did not uphold the Club’s appeal on liability related to matters surrounding the stadium sale, the Club’s appeal did succeed on sanction, halving the deduction to be imposed to 6 points in season 2020/21.
