Charles Blatchford recently defended RH a night-shift worker who fell asleep at the wheel of their car, before crashing into a motorcyclist and causing significant, life-changing crush injuries. RH admitted to not sleeping properly in the two nights leading up to the incident and was charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

Due to the efforts and skill of the defence team in producing a significant mitigation bundle, rather than being given an immediate prison term as would be expected in such cases, RH was handed a suspended prison sentence alongside a requirement to undertake unpaid work.

Charles was instructed by Narinder Rathore of JWP Solicitors, Leeds.
