April accepted tenancy in April 2025, successfully completing her pupillage under the supervision of Amy Jackson.
April handles a broad range of criminal cases, both prosecuting and defending. In her first month of practice, she defended a 19-year-old in a three-week Crown Court trial. Over six months, she worked closely with solicitors to represent a defendant with serious mental health challenges who faced possible deportation. In May 2025, she appeared before the Court of Appeal and achieved a significant reduction in her client’s sentence. Having cared for a sibling with learning difficulties, April is well-equipped to support vulnerable clients with complex needs.
In her regulatory practice, April has experience in inquests, school attendance trials, taxi licencing appeals, Environment Agency prosecutions, and disciplinary proceedings with the NMC. She has a growing passion for inquests and welcomes instructions from bereaved families.
During her Master’s, April worked pro bono for Women’s Aid, Citizens Advice, and SOS!SEN. She wants to build a practice representing the families of children with SEND in educational proceedings.
Before pupillage, April worked in Prison Law at Purcell Parker, representing prisoners before the Parole Board and in adjudications and applications for recategorisation. She is always eager to accept instructions in this area.
April enjoys spending time with her friends, family, and church. She likes to travel and spent a year studying in Prague.
