James Puzey, Head of St Philips Regulatory Group, was instructed by the HSE to prosecute Drayton Manor Park Limited after the death of school girl, Evha Jannath, on the Splash Canyon River Rapids ride in 2017. At a sentencing hearing that concluded today at Stafford Crown Court, Mr Justice Spencer fined the company operating the theme park at the time the incident occurred £1 million for an offence under s.3 of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
