Jonathan Barker led Lucinda Wilmott-Lascelles in the prosecution of cousins Luke Hazell and Miles Blakeney, who were convicted of conspiracy to kidnap, false imprisonment, blackmail, and causing grievous bodily harm with intent at Birmingham Crown Court on Friday, following an eight-week trial.
The victim was abducted from the streets of Birmingham and held captive in a flat in Edgbaston, where he was tortured and demands of £3 million were made to his family. Five days later, he was dumped naked and seriously injured on a Birmingham street.
Jonathan and Lucinda were instructed by the CPS Complex Casework Unit, West Midlands.
