Simon Davis has successfully prosecuted Amar Hussain, the PC that placed a hoax 999 call claiming that a radical Muslim with links to Islamic State would kidnap a police officer on December 8th 2014.
West Midlands Police had to put “unprecedented” measures in place to ensure safety of all officers, including having to call in when arriving home and not commuting in uniform.
Hussain, along with civilians Adil Bashir, 26, and Muhammad Ali Sheikh, 31, were all found guilty of two counts of perverting the course of justice. Sentencing has been listed for May 27th 2016.
