Reappointments to Attorney General’s Regional Panel of Counsel to the Crown

We are pleased to announce that following the recent competition, Ed Beever and Elizabeth Hodgetts have been reappointed to the Attorney General’s Regional Panel of Counsel (‘A’ Panel). 

Both Ed and Elizabeth are now longstanding members of the Panel, having first been appointed in 2007 and 2012 respectively. 

Sophie Garner and Patrick Keith are also members of ‘A’ Panel and ‘B’ Panel respectively, having been appointed in 2020. 

Members of the Panel are instructed on behalf of the Government. The Regional Panel was split into A, B and C Panels in 2018. Counsel on ‘A’ Panel advise and represent in the most complex cases, including challenges to legislation and large group actions. 

Competition for places on the Panel is fierce, and the appointments reflect the wide regard in which our barristers’ expertise and advocacy skills are held.
