Matthew Cullen represented a man charged after making a bomb hoax call to a major shopping centre in Telford. The call led to a mass evacuation leading up to a busy bank-holiday weekend and the full mobilisation of all police officers in the Telford & Wrekin division.
Court of Appeal authorities have suggested:
it will be rare, if ever, that a bomb hoax offence will result in a non-custodial sentence, regardless of personal mitigation.
Matthew persuaded the Judge that this was one of those rare cases, and the Court imposed a Suspended Sentence.
