Jonathan Barker secured a conviction in the trial of Leon Haughton. The jury heard evidence that Haughton had placed tracking devices on his victim’s car and followed him to a local nature reserve, where he shot him at close range with a sawn-off shotgun. The victim survived the attack, sustaining a gunshot wound to his arm. Following a two-week trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court, a jury found Haughton guilty of attempted murder. Sentencing will be in due course.
