Catherine Ravenscroft prosecuted a conversion of criminal property case linked to a murder. The defendant pawned a necklace which had been stolen in a robbery committed by the defendant’s son (and a gang of others) which resulted in a murder. The necklace belonged to the deceased and was sold at a pawn brokers 4 days after the murder. The defendant was caught on CCTV with his son pawning the item which was not recovered by the police until 3 months later.

The defendant was sentenced to a period of imprisonment due to the seriousness of the underlying offence.
