Ben Williams defended the mother in a complex case about the death of a child and disability of another due to nutritional and medical neglect.

The 2-month trial involved evidence from 15 different experts and was focused on the issue of whether the parents’ neglect of their children had been wilful, given their extreme beliefs in a vegan diet and traditional remedies.

There was extensive press coverage during the trial and the sentencing hearing was televised.

Ben was led by Charlie Sherrard KC of Furnival Chambers and instructed by Sadique & Uddin solicitors.
