Probationary Tenancy

Probationary tenancy at St Philips Chambers.

Although not currently actively seeking probationary tenancy applications we welcome contact from ambitious, highly motivated individuals who are yet to secure tenancy elsewhere.

Applicants should be ambitious and highly motivated individuals who are able to demonstrate outstanding intellectual ability typically evidenced by an excellent academic record, a sound knowledge of legal principles, or where appropriate a real potential to develop such knowledge and understanding. The ability to absorb and analyse a set of facts to identify the relevant factual and legal issues. The ability to present a persuasive argument either on paper or orally in a calm engaging and persuasive manner. To work efficiently as part of a team and engage and impress other lawyers and clients.

An offer of a probationary tenancy would be with a realistic expectation of a tenancy being offered thereafter.  While no earnings are guaranteed, you can expect to be very busy.

We promote equality of opportunity and we recruit on merit, looking for people of real ability who share our values.

Applications for a Probationary Tenancy should indicate the specialist group the application is made to and be accompanied by CV, covering letter, two work samples and two references (preferably one from a pupil supervisor).

You can submit your probationary tenancy application online here >>>.

Or alternatively, applications can be emailed to pupillage@st-philips.com, for the attention of the Chair of the Pupillage Committee to include all of the above requested documents and references.

Applications will be acknowledged within 7 days of receipt.
