Jonathan Barker, leading Catherine Ravenscroft, prosecuted conspiracy to discharge firearms

Jonathan Barker, leading Catherine Ravenscroft, prosecuted Operation Citrino 2 and Operation Quote. The case concerned two conspiracies to discharge firearms at residential properties in October 2024. 

The first conspiracy culminated in Lesane Anishere, who was just 18 years old at the time, and another individual discharging a firearm at an address occupied by a father and his ten-year-old daughter. 

The second conspiracy involved Lesane Anishere and Ali Riyan travelling to carry out a planned shooting. The attack had been organised by at least five other individuals, including Faieq Ghazanfar. However, the shooting did not take place because as Anishere and Riyan approached the intended location, Riyan was shot dead by an individual inside a vehicle that had been following the two men. 

All defendants received custodial sentences, including Anishere who was sentenced to 14 years in a Young Offender Institution.
