Denise Breen-Lawton KC, leading George Hazel-Owram of St Pauls Chambers, appeared in the Court of Appeal, Criminal Division on the 5^th of September 2025, prosecuting on behalf of National Trading Standards.

Three of the defendants, originally convicted of and sentenced for a multimillion-pound online scam, sought leave to appeal their convictions and sentences. Denise and George successfully argued that the convictions were safe, and the sentences were not manifestly excessive. Leave to appeal was refused in all cases.
