Callum Church has prosecuted a multi-handed contested confiscation case arising from CCU prosecutions at Birmingham Crown Court.

Key case issues centred around s.10A declarations, the complex movement and concealment of assets, and arguments on the law of trusts. Notably, the third party sought ownership declarations for four properties. However, HHJ Farrer KC ruled that the third party only had a lifetime equitable interest in one property, with ownership reverting to the defendants upon their death.

Callum was instructed by the CPS Proceeds of Crime Unit. The final confiscation orders against the defendants are now adjourned to May 2025.
