Introduction

Miranda started her pupillage at St Philips and she later accepted tenancy in October 2022.

Miranda joined St Philips as a pupil straight after Bar School at BPP University. Prior to beginning her legal training Miranda completed a BA (Hons) and MA in Drama, working in various different roles. Miranda went back to university to begin her legal training and undertook an LLM in Law and a CPE. She then went on to attend Bar School at BPP University.  Whilst doing the BPTC she undertook Pro Bono work and gained valuable experience in court and assisting litigants. During her time as a pupil, Miranda gained a wealth of experience by observing barristers in Chambers.

Miranda has undertaken a wide range of cases including, to name a few, multi-day fact-finding hearings in care and private law proceedings in which medical evidence has had to be considered, acrimonious contested private law proceedings. Hearings in which there has been a change of ‘residence’, parental alienation,  allegations of sexual abuse, allegations of serious sexual abuse of children, domestic abuse, FGM, Deprivation of Liberty in the High Court and Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees hearings. Miranda has also undertaken a case involving international child abduction.

Miranda has appeared before all levels of the judiciary including Justices, District Judges, Circuit Judges and High Court Judges.

In care proceedings Miranda has worked for numerous Local Authorities, she has also represented parents – including those with significant cognitive and learning difficulties, and also Guardians.

Miranda has already become a popular and well sort advocate and is already establishing a very busy practice. She is known for her attention to detail, ability to build a rapport with clients, other advocates, and the Judges she appears before. Miranda’s no-nonsense, common-sense approach and ability to explain complex matters of law, evidence and procedure, enables her to assist her clients, particularly parents,  in the cases in which she is instructed.

Miranda is developing a keen and growing interest in cases involving medical issues and in Court of Protection work.
