Introduction

Marcus Harry is a Barrister specialising in Criminal and Regulatory law.

Marcus is a well-established criminal barrister with extensive Crown Court experience. He appears for both the Crown and Defence and has been instructed alone as well as led junior counsel.

He also has a wide-ranging regulatory practice appearing in the Crown and Magistrates’ Court where he both prosecutes and defends.

Notable Cases

  • Operation Covalent [2023]

Instructed to defend in a double attempted murder, involving two separate incidents where D doused elderly males in petrol outside mosques before setting them alight. Case in the Terrorism List.

  • Operation Circus [2023]

Led junior for the defence in a multi-handed Ponzi-scheme fraud. Involves 11 defendants across three trials.  The allegation is fraud by abuse of position and false representation in excess of £24 million.

  • Operation Baritone [2022]

Led junior for one of the principle defendants in a 9-handed conspiracy to murder trial lasting 3 months. Drive by shooting following history of violence between two groups in the Dudley area.

  • Operation Cedarcrest [2022]

Led junior for the defence in a legally and medically complex murder. D already serving a 20 year sentence for causing GBH to the (now) deceased by driving a car in to him. Prosecution took four years to decide to charge with murder due to complexity of medical evidence.
