Clare Rennie accepted tenancy in May 2023 after completing her pupillage.
Clare has successfully defended and prosecuted in the Magistrates’ Court and has been instructed to defend in several Crown Court trials, including recently securing an acquittal where a client was charged with s.20 Grievous Bodily Harm. Her developing criminal practice has been varied, exposing her to a variety of cases including serious violence, fraud, drugs, and offensive weapons. She has also represented youths in both the Youth and Crown Court. She is a CPS Grade 1 prosecutor and has represented the Crown in numerous appeals against sentence and conviction.
In her regulatory practice, Clare receives instructions to defend and prosecute in a variety of areas including taxi licensing, food hygiene and trade mark offences. She regularly advises local councils, and she has represented clients in several Crown Court trials. Clare is looking to develop her practice in Education matters such as exclusion and admissions appeals due to her previous experience as a secondary school teacher.
Outside of work, Clare is an avid football fan and travels as often as she possibly can!
