We recognise that clients demand specialist knowledge from barristers who are technically astute, excellent in court and aware of wider commercial issues and personable.
St Philips Barristers John Randall QC and Ali Tabari have advised the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea in a major victory against social housing tenancy fraud.
Under an order given by Mr Justice Zacaroli, due to GDPR requirements, the landmark ruling will see the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea working with Airbnb to unlock critical information that can be used in future legal action or criminal proceedings against alleged fraudsters.
The data sharing agreement will see the council provided with evidence of payments made on social housing properties identified as being potentially listed as holiday and short-term lets on the Airbnb platform. This will enable the Council to take enforcement steps having obtained the evidence.
John and Ali were instructed by Pinsent Masons Partner and civil fraud expert, Andrew Herring.
