Blondel Thompson has been appointed to sit in the Court Of Arbitration for Sport Judges covering the 20th Commonwealth Games in Glasgow 2014. This important appointment recognises the former British & Commonwealth 100m hurdles record holder not only for her unrivaled experience in the world of athletics but also compliments her practice as a barrister specialising in Sports and Criminal law which she has done for the last 20 years.

Aside from the participation in athletics Blondel is also an arbitrator for the Court of Arbitration for Sport, (based in Lausanne, Switzerland); she is on the panel membership for Sports Resolutions, a panel member for the Disciplinary Tribunals of UK Athletics and was appointed as Chairwoman in 2001 for The Football Association Appeals Board. That role was extended in 2005 by Sports Resolutions to other areas including Swimming, Anti-Doping, Child Protection & and the Illegibility Appeal involving Sports Council Recognition of a sport.
