Due to the high volume of work the thriving and expanding team are looking to recruit a 3rd Six Pupil, based in Leeds.
The successful applicant(s) must be able to demonstrate they have developed their professional skills during their initial period of pupillage. They will have strong analytical skills, sound drafting ability and excellent advocacy skills, both oral and written. They will be able to demonstrate a real commitment to our Team and they will have the potential to become tenants in Chambers.
The third six months pupil will benefit from pro-active support and be allocated a member of chambers as a mentor (akin to a supervisor) and work alongside a more junior barrister who will fulfil a similar, but more informal, role. This third six months pupillage is unfunded and the successful candidate will be expected to generate their own income. The Third Six pupillage will last for 6 months.
An offer of a Third Six pupillage would be with a realistic expectation of being offered a tenancy following a successful conclusion of this six month pupillage. Successful applicants can expect to be busy and in the Employment Tribunal regularly.
Chambers is committed to providing our clients with high quality, specialist legal services through Barristers with the highest reputation for advocacy, knowledge and professional standards and we are looking for candidates who will uphold these core values. We would expect to want to take up references from earlier pupillages.
Applications should be made by covering letter reference “3rd Six Employment Application” sent to Juliette Print via email (firstname.lastname@example.org) containing:-
- your CV
- two examples of written work
- two references, these can be from solicitors, and preferably one from a previous Pupil Supervisor.
