St Philips Chambers Employment Team have backed Birmingham-based former British, Commonwealth and WBO Inter-Continental middleweight champion, Tommy Langford, in his bid to regain the British title.

Langford conceded his British middleweight championship to local rival Jason Welborn by a single point on May 4, in a fight that has now been nominated as ‘Contest of the Year’ in the British Boxing Board’s annual awards. The pair now get to do it all again on September 8 at the Arena Birmingham in one of the year’s most eagerly-anticipated showdowns, titled ‘The Battle of the Baggies 2’. The fight, being shown live on Sky Sports, is part of a bumper show headlined by Amir Khan as he looks to overcome the tough Columbian, Samuel Vagas.

Gary Carney, Senior Clerk of St Philips Employment Team commented on the brand-new partnership that will see the company logo emblazoned across the ‘Baggies Bomber’s’fight kit: “We are delighted to be involved with sponsoring Tommy for his bid to regain the British title. It is a great opportunity for us to back him and we look forward to the Battle of the Baggies 2. Good luck Tommy.

Langford also commented on the new union: “I’m really pleased to have St Philips Chambers Employment Team’s backing. I would like to thank them for all their support and I plan to repay them by bringing the British belt back with me.
