Our Employment Barrister Group

Our specialist employment barristers cover all aspects of employment law and are honoured to have been described in Legal 500’s UK Bar Guide as one of the “pre-eminent sets in Birmingham”, with “appropriate counsel to suit every type of employment work” and Chambers and Partners as a “top choice on the Midland Circuit for complex employment law cases”.

Led by Edmund Beever, we are distinguished by our large and cohesive employment group. Members practise across the full spectrum of employment law litigation and have particular expertise in areas such as high-value discrimination, whistleblowing, restraint of trade, wrongful dismissal, breach of contract, discrimination and TUPE cases.

In 2024 Legal 500 highlighted Francis Mortin as a Rising Star “Francis is an exceptional advocate with excellent interpersonal skills. He fully understands and grasps the key issues and the client’s priorities from the outset and is always willing to go above and beyond for clients to achieve the best outcome.”

St Philips Employment Group is an active participant in the Employment Lawyers Association (ELA), the Employment Law Bar Association, and the Law Society.
