Introduction

Since completing her pupillage in 2005 Victoria has specialised in family law, accepting instructions in all areas of care and adoption, matrimonial finance and private law Children Act applications. Victoria is known for her meticulous preparation and ability to put clients at ease, showing empathy for the issues of importance to them, no matter how small.

Victoria represents the Local Authority, parents and Guardians and appears frequently in complex cases involving children in the both the High Court and the County Court. She has represented clients through the Official Solicitor, clients with significant learning difficulties, disabilities, and those with different cultural backgrounds.

Whilst recognising the benefits of negotiation and compromise Victoria is a determined and forthright advocate who is always willing and prepared to fight for the client.


Family Finance Team

Victoria deals with a variety of cases, from modest cases with limited assets to complex cases involving substantial assets, partnerships, corporate assets and land and property in foreign jurisdictions. Victoria understands the importance to the client of the outcome of the case regardless of the amount at stake.

Victoria is known for her meticulous preparation, her ability to forensically examine voluminous accounts and her detailed position statements.

Victoria often persuades the Judge against earlier indications and whilst recognising the benefit of compromise is a determined advocate who will always fight for her client.

Victoria accepts instructions on behalf of Husbands, Wives and interveners, intervening in cases on behalf of companies and family members.

Private Law Children and Domestic Abuse

Victoria has extensive experience in the field of private law dealing mainly with findings of fact and contested hearing, often challenging expert reports and persuading the court to go against them.

Victoria deals with all applications under the Children Act 1989 and is frequently instructed in cases involving allegations of domestic violence and sexual abuse.

Victoria is known for her meticulous preparation and ability to put the client at ease in the most difficult of circumstances. She gives robust advice whilst maintaining an ability to understand and empathise with issues of importance to the client, no matter how insignificant they may be to the case.

Public Law Care and Adoption

Victoria acts for Local Authorities, Parents and Guardians. Over the last 12 months Victoria has been instructed in a number of complex and lengthy cases in the High Court involving allegations of sexual abuse, the re opening of historic sexual abuse allegations, and serious non accidental injury where the material was vast and expert paediatric evidence tested in cross examination. Victoria has developed an ability to master voluminous material and medical reports in order to identify, understand and refine the issues.
