Introduction

Sharon Hughes completed her pupillage at the Bar of Ireland and went on to develop a mixed civil practice at the Irish Bar. She regularly appeared before the High Court and Circuit courts, representing county councils, insurers and children in personal injury claims where the Personal Injuries Assessment Board (PIAB) had made an award.

Sharon’s practice covers all areas of personal injury, including employers’ liability, occupiers’ liability, injuries that arise by individuals in state detention, road traffic collisions and Animals Act claims. She has considerable experience in the QOCS regime, including claims where fundamental dishonesty is asserted. Sharon has a specific interest in claims arising from fatal accidents.
