Introduction

Carl is an experienced barrister, specialising in Crime. He has a busy and diverse practice both prosecuting and defending.

Carl speaks with authority and is able to connect with clients and fellow professionals alike. He’s known for being an excellent communicator and showing all the qualities of a great advocate.

Carl is instructed in matters of the most serious nature and regularly appears in the Crown Court and Court of Appeal in cases of violence, dishonesty, drugs, robbery, fraud and sexual offences.

As a led junior, Carl has been instructed in cases of murder, violence and serious fraud.

Carl has been instructed in a large number of fraud-related criminal investigations, dealing with allegations under the Fraud Act, Theft Act, and Proceeds of Crime Act. The sums involved have ranged from modest deceptions to multi-million pound frauds.

Carl is a Level 2 prosecutor on the Crown Prosecution Service panel of advocates.

Carl has regularly acted for prisoners facing adjudications and hearings before the Parole Board and Independent Adjudicator.

Additionally, he continues to accept instructions for more serious and complex matters in the Magistrates’ Courts, including road traffic matters.
