Following key changes to the law, members of the public seeking legal advice or representation within family law can now approach a barrister directly. Drastic cuts within Family Law to the refined Legal Aid Agency mean that very few will now qualify for legal aid, thus keeping costs to a minimum will be important. We know the legal process can be daunting, but here at St Philips Chambers we pride ourselves on making those hard times easier for you, without breaking the bank.
We are an excellent team of highly skilled family barristers, with many years of experience in all aspects of family advocacy. We can advise you in conference, provide written opinions and represent you at every stage of the court process.
Given our depth of experience in court, we are able to offer you advice and guidance, discussing tactics and predicting outcomes at every step of your proceedings. We are practical, sensible, robust and sensitive to your individual requirements. You will have complete control and decide at every stage over how much of the process you wish us to be involved in.
Our team specialises in the following areas:
- Divorce and Nullity proceedings.
- Financial Remedies.
- Civil partnership disputes.
- Property disputes and financial rights of unmarried cohabitees.
- Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996.
- Cases arising under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975.
- Pre-Nuptial agreements.
- Freezing Orders.
- Children: Private law
- Domestic Violence.
Barristers do not deal with the administrative aspects of litigation. This means for instance we do not take documents to court; we do not issue fees for court hearings or photocopy bundles of documents. If you are confident enough to handle the litigation then you will make a substantial saving, whilst having the benefit of an experienced barrister to help you with the more difficult parts of your proceedings (as outlined above). We are never more than a phone call away.
Fees are always clearly explained and agreed in advance and fixed fee arrangements may be available to cover multiple hearings.
There is an initial, free consideration as to whether your case is suitable for direct access instruction of a barrister, where our dedicated clerking team will advise you on the required information you will need to provide for this process. Please do not hesitate to contact the clerks on: 0121-246-1600 or email@example.com or fill out our bespoke enquiry form to which we will acknowledge within 24 hours during normal business operating times.
