Iqbal Mohammed Contributes to Major Academic Work on Social Media

Iqbal Mohammed has helped publish one of the first major textbooks looking at the rise and influence of social media in the 21st century. Revolutionizing the Interaction between State and Citizens through Digital Communications is published by IG Global and features a dozen contributors from across the world as is the first book taking carrying out a holistic review of social media in the current age. Iqbal’s chapter focuses on how social media has affected the English legal system, legal practice and the law in England and Wales. He examines cases, legislation and considers the issues faced by English lawyers with the widespread use of social media such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.

Iqbal’s practice involves commercial and employment litigation. Iqbal has advised several clients on claims arising out of social media, including property in social media (profiles and contacts), investigations using private social media, issues relating to article 8 and 10 of the European Convention and misconduct through social media. Iqbal has also advised on drafting social media policies and delivered seminars on the law and social media.
