Despite the sun shining and many of us in our gardens enjoying one of those rare warm Bank Holidays, all of us will be only too aware that this is an Easter unlike any other we have ever encountered.

The whole world of commerce has been rocked by the unprecedented issues the coronavirus has caused, and the legal profession is not immune.

However, whilst many of us enjoy the fine weather locked down in our homes, those who have their health are the fortunate ones.

Already, most of us will be aware of someone who has had mild symptoms of this pandemic, at the very least, and with several hundred deaths due to the pandemic each day in the country now the norm, it is likely this national emergency will continue for the foreseeable future.

From our own point of view, we would like to thank all of our staff and suppliers who have worked so hard in recent weeks to ensure the chambers is still very much open for business, albeit remotely.

It is worth adding too that throughout the country we have seen incredible work from the vast majority of people ensuring that they can operate as efficiently as possible in these difficult times.

Of course though, the real heroes are the doctors, nurses, and key workers, who are showing such selflessness and bravery putting their own safety on the line every day. We have put on record before our huge appreciation of the work they do, but it is only fitting that we do so again.

To all of our friends, we hope this Easter can be as enjoyable as possible, and you can chat to loved ones, even if it is via your mobile phone or tablet. We also wish to add that we hope your spirits remain good over the break.

After all, it is a worrying time and the subject of mental health is thankfully one that is much more transparent these days. We hope you find the sunshine, maybe a light hearted film, or a good book keeps you strong over the break.

So, we wish you all the best at this Easter time and thank you for your support so far in 2020.  Like all of us, we hope that this period will soon pass and we can all meet again soon.

Best Wishes from all the team at St Philips Chambers
