Julie Moseley has practiced from Birmingham since her pupillage in 1992 and tenancy in 1993. She has practiced in family law throughout her career and after five years specialised solely in family law cases. Julie is a busy and experienced family advocate able to handle complex and sensitive cases without compromising on her client care abilities. She appears most frequently in County and High court public and private law children matters.
Julie Moseley regularly represents the whole range of participants in public law cases including Local Authorities, parents, interveners (from alleged perpetrators to proposed special guardians) and Children’s Guardians. In private law matters Julie Moseley regularly represents r.16.4 guardians. She regularly deals with clients with learning disabilities and mental health issues and is familiar with working on behalf of the Official Solicitor. Julie also has experience from a number of cases of representing teenage children directly within the public law arena.

She has experience of serious non accidental injury cases including brain/head injuries and also of significant long term sexual abuse matters. Julie has experience of dealing with a number of cases where there has been an issues of competing jurisdiction of other countries. Julie has experience of dealing with sensitive issues of publicity involving the medium of the internet. Julie has developed her client care abilities over her years of representing vulnerable and often learning disabled clients and is sensitive to the stress experienced by both professional and lay clients in the emtionally charged setting of family courts.

Private Law Children and Domestic Abuse
Julie Moseley has a wide breadth of experience and ability in the area of private law issues over children. She acts for parents, intervenors and Guardians in these cases. Julie has good intuitive client care and is able to give pragmatic and child focussed advice coupled with strong and fearless advocacy. Julie has wide experience of section 8 residence and contact applications and specific issue applications including removal from the jurisdiction. She has also undertaken cases for parentage orders under the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Act 1990.
